Is the Custer Red Conspicuity Reflector DOT Approved?

Question:
Im planning to use these reflectors instead of tape because Im applying over checker plate. The width of these are 1inch compared to 2inch wide for the tape. Is the 1inch width acceptable to DOT?

Yes. The Red Conspicuity Reflector # RFL-12R is both DOT and NHTSA compliant. These reflectors are 1" wide and 12" long.
