How to Activate 12-Volt Accessory Circuit on 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2001 Chevy Silverado

2001 Silverado 2500 HD 6L V8 gas. What fuse serves the trailer battery circuit on the 7 pin plug?

Take a look at the photo I've edited for you. First, remove the black shroud around the fuse box. Under where the red circle is in the photo, there's a threaded post. Nearby to the fuse box, usually between the fuse panel and the cab, look for a red wire with a ring terminal on it. This is the wire that feeds the 12V pin on the trailer connector. Attach the ring terminal to that post, and secure with a nut. At the lower left in the photo, there's an empty fuse location. Add a 40A fuse, which will activate that circuit.
Keep in mind that this 12V circuit will maintain a charged battery, but it cannot deliver enough amperage to charge a depleted battery due to the distance away and the small gauge wire used for that circuit.
