Question:

I have a grand design Imagine travel trailer. Currently I have approx only 2-2.5” from top of tire to wheel well. My axles are under the lead springs. I purchased a pair of Dexter bushinged equalizers as well as shock absorber system to improve rise. Recently I replaced axles from 4K to 8 K axles. My current center hanger is approx. 3.5” from top to center hole. Should I go with the taller hangers 5 1/2”? If so should I change front and rear hangers as well to account for the extra 2” on new center hanger? My hanger is bent so now is the time if I’m going to do it... P.S. I have nothing but praise for etrailer.

At the very least, you want to see at least 3 inches of clearance between the tire and the underside of the fender with the suspension at full load.

With the goal of gaining height, best course is to go with taller spring hangers. Keep in mind that the amount by which you increase the height of the spring hangers won't necessarily be the amount the ride height increases, due to the fact that the suspension articulates. Replacing the front and rear hangers as well would be a great idea as well while you're doing the full suspension update.
