How Orientation of Seals When Installing Valterra Shower Drain # A01-2012VP

Question:
The shower drain comes with a rubber washer and a paper washer. Does the rubber washer go between the shower pan and underside of drain body then the paper washer between the underside of the shower pan and fastening nut? Please confirm.

Yes, the rubber seal of the Valterra Shower Drain # A01-2012VP that you referenced goes between the top of the tub drain hole and the bottom of the flange of the drain and then the other seal goes between the bottom of the tub and the fastening nut just like you mentioned.
