Published 05/10/2012 >
Question:
Is there an installation video for this hitch? I dont understand why some people are able to install it in 45 minutes and others it takes 4 hours. I purchased the hitch a couple weeks ago and Im a bit apprehensive to start the installation process.

I have attached our installation video of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # 13160, on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee for you to check out. I have also attached a link to the installation instructions.
Curt estimates that the install time for this hitch should be approximately 45 minutes. The estimated install time is a time that Curt feels it will take someone who has experience installing a trailer hitch to complete the install. The biggest hang up people have with hitch installation is when fish wiring is involved. This hitch will require you to fish wire three carriage bolts and hole spacers through the vehicles frame. Our installers show the proper way to fish wire these bolts to give you an idea on what is involved.
If you are inexperienced in installing a trailer hitch or using the fish wire technique, then it may take longer than the estimated 45 minutes. I recommend making sure you have all of the tools recommended in the installation instructions and someone to assist you when installing this hitch.
