What is Crossbar Spread of Thule Wingbar Evo Rack that Fits 2019 Toyota Rav4 with Flush Rails

Question:

Dear Etrailer, I have a 2019 Toyota Rav 4 with factory flush rails. Your website mentions the minimum bar spread, but when checking Thules website, maximum bar spread is defined as 31.5. When I measure the distance between the factory mounting points it measures to be approximately 34-35. Can you provide some clarification if there is a mismatch or if Thules website gives the wrong bar spread. Is it something to be concerned about, does it change the load carrying capacity of the rack? I plan to use my roof rack to carry surf skies with V bars or with the Lock rack surf ski carrier, Best regards,

The measurement you took is the correct spread between the Thule crossbars of the roof rack that fits your 2019 Toyota RAV4 since it is designed to fit the fixed mounting points...which by definition aren't changing dimensions. So the spread of the Wingbar Evo rack part # TH711200, # TH460R, and # THKIT3177 that you mentioned will be the distance you measured of 34 to 35 inches. The max figure that Thule mentioned would not be applicable in this situation since they confirm the fit of the rack on your configuration and the spread can't be changed.
