Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24677 Fit a 1994 Civic Coupe with Aftermarket Exhaust

Question:
I have a 94 civic coupe with an aftermarket exhaust. I am concerned that there will not be enough clearance for the hitch to mount to the car with the larger muffler. Would you have exact dimensions of this product?

Expert Reply:
First, I can tell you that trailer hitches are designed for stock vehicles. The addition of aftermarket parts like exhaust are not factored in to the hitch design. If the exhaust is the same size and takes the same path as the factory exhaust, it should not be an issue. If it is larger then there is a chance the hitch will not fit.
I went out to the warehouse and took some measurements of the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24677. I made a picture that shows the following measurements for you to view:
Bolt hole to bolt hole on center is 35-1/2 inches
Brackets are 1/2 inch thick
Cross tube is 1-1/2 inches square
From the top of the bracket to the top of receiver tube it is 4-3/4 inches
