The switch on unit itself broke I don’t have trailer on truck how do I get brake lights to turn off

If the manual override on your brake controller has snapped off and the brake lights are now constant then you will need to unplug the brake controller or cut the red wire. The brake controller would then need to be replaced which the Draw-Tite Activator part # 5504 would be a good option for or you could upgrade to the Brake EVN part # TK63VR which has a proportional design therefore will be much smoother. The Brake EVN also has a lifetime warranty so you would be covered if anything were to happen. These are both plug and play replacement options.
