Helpful Expert Reply:
The Solera RV Slide-Out Awnings will hold up in heavy winds as they have a pre-set tension to reduce billowing and they are made of a much heavier fabric (13.5 oz) which has a five year warranty. Therefore, there should not be too much of a concern with the awning holding up in strong winds.
In regards to travel, there is not any sort of cover for the slide topper but again the pre-set tension system is going to prevent wind from getting under the fabric and causing tears. The Solera RV Slide-Out Awnings are pretty durable overall which you can see by browsing some of the reviews on the product page.
I have attached for you a list of all our Solera RV Slide-Out Awnings. In order to choose the correct one you will need to measure the width of the slide-out flange to flange and then chose a cover that fits this width. The Solera RV Slide-Out Awning part # LCV000163287 for example fits slide-out between 80" - 85" wide.
