Question:
Can I use direct barrel household thnn individual wiring for a trailer, as long as its the proper size?

As long as the THNN wire is copper and the proper gauge for what you are wiring on your trailer you can use it. I have attached a helpful article that explains wiring a trailer and the minimum required wire gauges. We recommend at least 10 gauge wire be used to wire electric brakes like part # 10-1-1. I have attached a link for the wire we carry.
