Hole On Eco-Hitch Alignment Tab Not Lining Up
Question:
I have the hitch mostly installed on my 2019 Leaf. Everything looks good except for one thing. There are two alignment tabs: one on the driver side, and one on the passenger side. The driver side one is fine. Theres a bolt and a spring washer that goes through the hole into a threaded hole in the side of the support beam. The passenger side one *almost* lines up with a hole in a piece of sheet metal, and theres a bolt and a nut in the kit that would fit here, but its about 1/4inch off. Has anyone else seen this issue? Ive loosened the nuts and verified that the hitch is snug against the underside of the two main support beams, but the second alignment tab wont line up. Two options occur to me: a Ignore it. The instructions only seem to mention one alignment tab anyway. b Drill a hole in the sheet metal so I can get the bolt through. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I did contact the manufacturer on your behalf and per the engineering team at Eco Hitch, you can drill the hole in the sheet metal as you suggested to complete your install of the Eco Hitch Hidden Trailer Receiver # 306-X7221. Another option you have is to grind the hole larger for the bolt to fit into the alignment tab as another option as well.
