Question:
I intend to fabricate new mounting brackets to accommodate a Softopper, so I’m hoping to find out the diameter of the upright tubing. Thanks!

According to the nice folks at Erickson Manufacturing, the steel tubing that the ladder rack uprights are constructed of measures 1.9 inches (48mm) in diameter. I've provided a photo showing some other dimensions you might find helpful.
