Does Wire Have to Run to Vehicle Battery When Installing ZCI Trailer Wiring Kit

Question:

I thought that LED taillights like on this 2015 Little Guy T@b tear trailer had such little battery drain that a small half the size of a car battery 12V would last for several weeks without re charging.

I can not recommend you do that since that battery is going to drain pretty quickly and leave you without trailer lighting and you'll have no way of knowing while driving. I know it seems like a hassle but running the power wire up to the vehicle battery is the only safe way we can recommend you install the part # 119250KIT in your 2017 Audi A3.

That's a valid question, the reality is that if you went with a large enough battery it would probably work. But since there's a risk it might drain and your trailer lights would be non-functional without you knowing it we can't safely recommend that route.
