Availability of Replacement Step Pads for UWS Nerf Bars on 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD

Updated 08/19/2019 | Published 08/17/2019

Question:

I have the UWS Wheel to Wheel Nerf Bars on a 2009 GMC 2500 HD Crew Cab These have the 3 steps. all 3 steps measure 20L x 3.25W These steps have 5 clips end to end 18.25inch apart with the distance between each very close to 4.5. I doubt anyone wants to deal this trivial junk. I just bought the truck and the front Drvr Side is missing i have done a bit of research but no luck other than Curt Conglomerate Stinks No Help there at all. I had read reviews about how good you guys are an thought I Sould give you guys a try. Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance for any help.

We have actually had a few questions in the past regarding replacement pads for UWS Nerf Bars and when we reached out to them we were told that UWS discontinued their nerf bar line a few years ago. Because of this replacement parts are no longer produced.

I did go through our selection of replacement pads from other brands just to see if we might have something with matching dimensions that could work but we do not. I definitely understand it's probably not something you want to hear but with all of this in mind your best option is really to replace the running boards themselves.

For your 2009 Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab I highly recommend the Westin PRO TRAXX Oval Nerf Bars # 21-534575 if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed or # 21-534585 if you have the 8 foot bed. These are excellent wheel-to-wheel ners bars that feature a 5 inch width for easy footing and a sleek black powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion. Since the hardware is custom-designed for your truck it will be a simple bolt-on installation without any drilling.

I have attached the written install manual below that you can look through as well.
