Removing Heat Shield To Install Trailer Hitch on 2018 Ford Edge

Does the removal of heat shield cause a loss of integrity of remaining plastic bumper covering.

Actually, removal of the heat shield doesn't present a problem because when the # 75234 Draw-Tite Class III hitch is installed on your 2018 Ford Edge, it will sit between the muffler and the bumper, actually acting as a heat shield. The hitch will do a better job of keeping the heat away from the bumper than the shield did. To view an installation video, please click the provided link.
