Fork Mount Bike Carrier To Replace Thule Peloton On SportRack Camper Rack

Question:

I need this u bolt but I need the threads to be at least 3/8” longer. Mounting on a sport rack camper rack and threads aren’t long enough to reach. Do you have anything? Thule ubolt for 517 peloton front fork mount

The discontinued Thule Peloton Roof Mounted Bike Rack part # TH517 was originally designed for square and round bars that were no larger than 1-1/4 inches wide and 7/8 inches tall.

Your recently purchased SportRack Camper Rack part # SR1020 has bars that are 1-1/4" wide x 1-1/4" tall which is why the U-bolt from the Peloton is not fitting properly. I contacted Thule and the there is not an adapter or U-bolt that is the same width as the older U-bolt that fits the taller square bars of your SportRack unfortunately.

I recommend replacing the Peloton, instead of modifying it for safety reasons. I recommend The Inno Multi Fork Lock Roof Bike Rack part # INA392 that is guaranteed to fit the bars without modification. The versatile fork block works with 9-mm quick-release skewers and 15-mm and 20-mm thru axles. There is also convenient sliding rear wheel cradles to accommodate shorter wheelbases. The best thing about the Inno is it's lightweight aluminum construction of only 12.2 lbs so it's much easier to put on the bars.
