I have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Thule roof basket part # TH859XT. Im looking for a folding J style Kayak carrier that I can attach to this basket. Are there any options?

There isn't a good way to mount accessories like a kayak carrier to the Thule Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT. Your best option will be to either mount the carrier alongside the basket if you have the needed crossbar space available or obtain a new basket that features crossbars that can be used for this type of application.

The kayak carrier that I recommend is the J-style kayak carrier that will work well either on your Jeep's crossbars or on the above-mentioned Thule basket I recommend taking a look at the Yakima JayLow # Y04073. This particular carrier features a nice versatile design that lets you secure 1 kayak when the cradles are in the J-style position or 2 kayaks when in the vertical position. The cradles themselves have a small integrated ramp that allows for easier loading and tie-down straps are included.
