Yes, a 5 mm wire rope will work with the Thule MultiLift Cargo Lift and Storage System # TH572; however, you do not need to purchase any rope separately. The storage system actually comes with a 5 mm x 10 m rope that you'll use with the system, which has a 220 lb capacity.
