Yes, you can use the Extension Piece for Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket part # TH8591XT with the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket part # TH859XT on your 2018 Subaru Forester. The overhang of the basket will just be more but you can choose to have this in the front, the rear, or split for the front and rear. I recommend you pick the position that allows you to still open your hatch fully.
