Installing Replacement Felt for BAK Revolver X2 hard Tonneau Cover

Are there specific instructions or tips to install the felt replacement pads on a BAK 2 Revolver on a Ram 2500?

There aren't any official installation instructions available for the Replacement Felt # PARTS-526A0001 that you referenced but I did reach out to my contact at BAK Industries just to see if they had any guidance or tips for the process.

He said the 2 strips will adhere right to the underside of the BAK Revolver X2 Tonneau. Before applying them you will want to try and clean off as much of the old adhesive residue as possible. Then when applying the strips you're just going to work them into the grooves of the cover along their length and then at each end on the tonneau there is an aluminum bar that you will just tuck the felt under to secure it into place.

Thanks Chris R for your valuable info on installing the replacement felt under pads on the BAK Revolver X2 tonneau cover. I cleaned all the glue off the cross bars with contact cement cleaner where the felt was glued on. I have a question. When these are glued on the round top of each cross bar as you progress, I assume you have to push the felt down in the valley between the next bar to give some slack for when cover is rolled to the cab of the truck. Am I correct on this? Thanks so much

@JonG Hi John, similar question. The aluminum bar. How in the heck do you get the old one out? I bought the felt replacement kit. How do I get the original bar out though? Thanks.

@SteveL Where exactly are you referring to? I was under the impression that the felt part was on top of all the aluminum pieces so you wouldn't need to remove anything (aside from maybe lifting the cover out of the back of your truck) to replace the felt.
