Removing Adhesive to Install PARTS-526A0001 Replacement Felt for BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover

Question:
Hello. If you have any influence with the manufacturer maybe you can get them to improve the felt strip adhesive. Both of my strips came off within 2 years and it will take longer to clean and reinstall them than the time it took to originally install the tonneau cover. I live in Virginia where we rarely get to 100 degrees, I cant imagine the problems that cover owners in the southwest have with this. Anyway, did the manufacturer provide any instructions on how to remove the original adhesive? Thank you.

BAK didn't have any specific recommendations regarding what to use to remove the original adhesive, but from experience I've found that WD-40 is pretty effective, and it's something you likely have on hand already. If you wanted to use something a little more effective that's specifically designed to remove adhesive, I'd use Goo Gone, which is also pretty readily available from any auto parts store.
