How To Replace The Felt On A BAK Revolver X2 Tonneau Cover
Updated 02/26/2025 | Published 10/23/2021 >
Question:
Hi, The felt is under the bar at the tailgate end of the cover. The bar is very tight and I cannot pull the old felt free, let alone tuck the new felt under it. Can the bar be removed? I did lightly attempt to use a screwdriver against the bar and tapped on it with a small hammer but it didnt budge. Any help would be much appreciated.

I contacted BAK about getting the Replacement Felt PARTS-526A0001 installed, and they recommended laying the cover completely flat and then sliding the metal portion off the slats. Unfortunately, there are no videos of this being done though, so there will be some trial and error to accomplish this.
However, I am fairly sure this is either bolted or riveted on, so you may need to remove these to get that bar off.

Hi. I recieved the felt replacement kit for my bak revolver x2. It came with two stick on felt pieces, two aluminum bars and a tube of glue or cement ? Not sure. It’s a small white tube. I took the felt off of one side at the tailgate end. There is a alluminum bar that seems to be slid in but I have no way of knowing how to get it out unless I disassemble the plastic ends on the cover. Do you have any knowledge on this. I don’t want to mess the cover up as it’s in perfect condition.
