Will this keep water off the top of the trailer? Is this material similar to the woven tarp covers? Thanks,

Yes, the Adco Polypropylene Storage Lot RV Cover # 290-74839 will keep the water from pooling on your trailer. It is made of a non-abrasive, 4-layer polypropylene that protects against the elements and beads water to keep it from pooling. I'm not quite sure if it feels like the woven tarp covers you mentioned but I have attached a close up of the material for you to reference.
