Yes! You can absolutely carry a 17 foot kayak on the Malone MicroSportXT Trailer # MPG460XT. In fact I reached out to my contact at Malone and she said this particular trailer is designed to hold a kayak that is up to 20 feet in length and it has an overall weight capacity of 375 pounds. .
This is a great choice to transport your kayak along with any other adventure items you may have. It features a pre-wired electrical system with a standard 4-Way connector and is made right here in the USA. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
For a kayak carrier that works perfectly with this trailer I recommend taking a look at the Malone MegaWing # MPG207. This is a V-style carrier that allows for easy loading and the needed tie-down straps are included.
