Question:

Hello I currently have a 33.5 foot rockwood signature ultra lite 5th wheel I have been towing with a 16k reese revolution pin box and hitch. I have a Ram 1500 short bed. I am buying a new truck. A 2018 ram 2500 big horn crew cab with the 5th wheel prep group installed and a mid size bed. Can you tell me what I will have to replace as far as towing? will any of my 1500 parts work with the 2500? pin box? Let me know. thank

Since you aren't changing your 5th wheel trailer, there is no need to change your pin box. The 2018 Ram 2500 with mid size bed and puck system will make it easy to adapt. It sounds like you already have a Reese 5th wheel hitch, so you will simply need the Reese adapter # RP30154 and all your other components will work exactly the same as they did with your old Ram 1500. I've attached a video to assist.

If you don't want that adapter and would rather have a new hitch designed to fit your pucks, then I recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3600 which is the best in the market and a customer favorite. This would give you the clean look and direct compatibility as well as the best king pin contact and hitching for a great towing experience. If you go this route, I also recommend the custom wedge # SWW-06 designed for that hitch head.
