Roof Cargo Basket Recommendation that Can Have Shovel Carrier Added

Hello, I am interested in the curt or rola roof rack for a jeep cherokee xj. I am thinking that curt roof rack would accomodate brackets to hold shovels and tools on the outside edges better than the rola because the rola appears to be slanted there. Would you agree with that? From the specs I have seen the rola is heavier than the curt but the curt is rated to hold more weight. I am thinking the lighter weight curt makes sense as it is less overall weight that I would be adding to my vehicle. Without being able to see these in person I am just going off looks. I like the squarer look of the curt better, but I like the seemingly heavier thicker bars on the rola. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

The best solution I can offer you is a roof cargo basket and a shovel holder that can fit it. For that we have the Yakima OffGrid part # Y07138 with the shovel adapter TopGrip part # Y04086.
We don't have a way to come up with a shovel adapter for the Curt or the Rola but it would seem that the Curt is a better fit for that application over the Rola.
