Hi! I have an Audi A6 Avant Quattro 2004.In some areas at Lake Tahoe or Yosemite they require snow chains. What chains would you recommend for a tire size 235/45-17 and do I need chains on all 4 tires since its a quattro? Thank you,

You will first want to check your owners manual or with the Audi dealer to determine if you can use snow tire chains on your 2004 Audi A6 Avant Quattro, or if there are any limitations.
For the 235/45R17 tire size the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part # PW1038, is the part number you would need for the cable style chains like the part number you have referenced.
I would also recommend the Thule CB12 Snow Chains, part # TH01221100. These are dual-sided, D-shape chain links that give excellent grip on snow and ice. These chains have cam tension adjusters that will keep the chains tight on your tires. I am including a link to a FAQ page on the Thule snow chains and a video link of the Thule chains being installed on a vehicle.
On a 4-wheel drive vehicle you can use one or two sets of chains. If you use one set they would go on the rear wheels. If you use two sets you will again want to be sure the vehicle can use chains on all four wheels.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on snow tire chains.
