Question:

I purchased the yakima jet stream cross bars and the guy at the store said the thule snowpack 6 would be compatible with it but for some reason I can’t get it to fit. are these actually compatible?

The Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier - Low Profile - Locking - 6 Skis or 4 Boards - Silver # TH7326 is compatible with the Yakima Jet Sream Crossbars like # Y00426. The Jetstream bars are 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall with T-slot dimensions of 1" wide x 1/2" tall. You will need to determine if you are using the SpeedLink Mounting Hardware or the T-slot hardware. Either options will work well for mounting your carrier to the crossbars.

If you are using the SpeedLink, the straps do need to be let out further than you might think to connect around the bars and if you are mounting them in cold weather the straps won't be as pliable so it will be a little more difficult. If you are in a cold climate installing these, I recommend bringing them indoors to warm up for a time before installing them so you will have the easiest time installing around your crossbars.
