Question:

Hi - I assembled the Thule Trail 864XT cargo basket and want to put it on top of my Seasucker Monkey Bars. But these bars are round so the clamps that the Thule provides doesn’t fully secure the Thule basket to the bars. Is there an accessory clamp that I can buy to make this Thule basket and seasucker monkey bar work together better?

The Thule Canyon XT rooftop cargo basket # TH859XT has hardware designed to fit on most types of roof rack crossbars, including round ones like those in your SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack # 298-SX6000B. It comes with several sizes of u-bolt to allow a solid fit on various bar sizes. These are shown in the linked photo.

The SeaSucker bars measure 1-1/4-inches in diameter which should be large enough for a proper fit since the basket hardware is designed to fit Yakima's round roof rack bars which are smaller at 1-1/8-inch in diameter. If the u-bolt mounting hardware does not grip well enough you can add something like padding around the bars to increase their diameter. You might care to use an item such as a crossbar pad, like the ones shown on the linked page, such as # 298-SA1022. These can be cut in half to fit each of the four u-bolts.
