I lost the key and unfortunately removed the lock and disposed of it. Now I need a whole new lock with key.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a Replacement Lock Cylinder for Thule Racks and Carriers with a "2982" code just the Replacement Key for Thule and Sportrack Racks and Carriers part # THKEYN2982. If you can explain the issue you are having I would be happy to see if we have any other solutions for you.
