Question:

I have a 2019 F-250 Super Duty short bed with the OEM puck system and I am looking for a sliding hitch recommendation. I like the thought of the automatic sliding hitches that I've seen people using. What do you have that fits my truck? Will it fit directly into the pucks or do I need an adapter?

For your 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty with the 6-3/4' bed and OEM puck system we have the Demco Hijacker 5th wheel hitches. These fit directly into the pucks so no adapter is needed and they give you 14" of fore/aft travel so that you have enough cab turning clearance.

This comes in both 18K # DM8550024 and 21K # DM8550038 versions but I recommend going with the 21K because it allows you to tow a larger variety of 5th wheel trailers. Attached is an installation video of the 18K in a 2014 F-350 so you get an idea of how these install on your pickup.

I also recommend installing an air bag kit to help support your factory suspension and increase your ride quality. The best option available for your F-250 comes from Air Lift and is part # AL57391 if you have a 2WD or part # AL57399 if you have a 4WD. These are geared for towing applications as opposed to the other Air Lift kits that are more for constant loads like construction pickups.

A compressor system is also beneficial if you do decide to add the air bag kit. The compressor system I recommend for your application is the WirelessONE # AL25980 which is a single path system with a handheld remote so that you can physically see that your towing rig is level before towing.
