Installation of Roadmaster XL Baseplates on 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon JK

Question:
Need help. I watched the installation video of the Roadmaster XL base plate on a 2016 Rubicon JKU. The base plate that I ordered is for my rubicon and sterling tow bar, however it came with side mounting plates that was not used in the 2016 installation video. Do I need to install these side plates? The instructions list how to install and if the hole in the frame strut is not there I have to drill one..

The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 1444-1 does require that new bracket. The video you referenced was made prior to them adding that bracket, but they do require drilling that hole as the current instructions indicate under number 4. You will use a 1/2 inch drill bit for this step.
