In order to install the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185 on your 2007 Toyota Tacoma with a 4-way trailer connector you would first need to plug the two 4-ways into each other. Once you have done this you would then need to take a 10 gauge wire and run it from the black wire on the harness to the positive battery terminal with a circuit breaker. This is the only required connection outside of the 4-way plug but if your trailer has brakes then you will also need to take a 10 gauge wire and run this from the blue wire on the harness to an in-cab brake controller like the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller part # 39510. The purple wire is for the reverse lights/lockout which most trailers don't have so it is just tied off under the vehicle.
If you do not already have the jacketed wire part # 10-2-1 (per foot) and circuit breaker part # PK54540 then it would be more cost effective for you to just purchase the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat part # ETBC7 which comes with everything you need to install a 7-way on your Tacoma. I have attached an install video of this entire process for you as well.
