How to Run the Power Wire for a Wiring Harness on a 2015 Subaru Impreza
Published 10/23/2018 >
Question:
What is the correct routing for the Power Wire which runs to the Battery Terminal? Is there another location from which it is acceptable to access power without going through the floor pan and firewall? Yes, one could go underinch the car, but that doesnt seem like the professional approach.

I really wish I had an exact write up for running the power wire on the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118573 to the battery on your 2015 Subaru Impreza but as we have not had the chance to install this harness yet, I do not. There are actually multiple different ways you can run the wire so exact instructions are rarely provided. As you mentioned you can run the power wire under the vehicle but you need to steer clear of any moving parts like the driveshaft or parts that emit heat like the exhaust pipes. We find that most customers zip tie the power wire to the brake lines and run it up to the battery that way. The other option is to run the wire thought the cab of the vehicle but this is much more complicated as you have to make holes and remove several trim panels. Again, I don't have exact instructions for either of these steps.
I have attached our generic help article for routing the power wire for a wiring harness but if this does not have enough info for you then you will want to just take the vehicle to a mechanic. It is not advised to draw power from any source other than the 12 volt battery. The warranty of the wiring harness would be voided if not installed per the manual.
