How to Release King Pin from Jaws of B&W Companion When Binding Occurs

Have you tried putting the handle of the B&W Companion Hitch, like part # BWRVK3705, in the "open" position and then driving away? Sometimes when parked on uneven terrain some binding occurs between the king pin and the jaws of the Companion. B&W actually uses a cam-action handle so that when binding does occur (like what it looks like is happening to you) the latch can simply be put in the open position so and then the tow vehicle driven away for the jaws to release the king pin.
