I'm adding a 7-way I bought on my 2018 F-150. What color wire does what?

Expert Reply:
Instead of wiring by color use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and test each of the wires on your 2018 Ford F-150 for function and connect it to the correct pin on the new 7-way connector. There isn't a standard color that vehicle manufacturers use, therefore wiring by color is unreliable at best.
I've attached a diagram that shows the correct location for each function on the connector for you.
