Question:

I have a 5th wheel15,000 GVW with a Mor/ride pin box RPB72-770. I would like to change over to a Reese Goose box air-ride coupler adapter. Will the 20,000 Wt. model fit between the wings where the bin box is now bolted. Also, the pin box is now bolted to the bottom row of bolt holes in the wings so that I would not be able to lower the goose box to the next lower row of holes as recommended by the manufacturer. Would this make the trailer ride too high in the front and adversely affect the mechanics of the hitch. My current 5th wheel hitch is a Reese Elite and sits in the bed of a Super Duty 3/4 ton Ford with the under the bed hitch and rests 16” above the bed of the truck. Thank you for your help.

There is a Goose Box that will fit your Mor/Ryde RPB72-770 pin box. This pin box has the same mounting pattern and other key dimensions as the Lippert 1716 pin box. The one Goose Box that fits is # RP94716-61301 that has a capacity of 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight. Since the 5th wheel trailer has a gross weight rating of 15,000 pounds this Goose Box will work great for your needs.

The Goose Box can bolt in like how you have your existing pin box and you will be at or very near the current height you are now. Raising the Goose Box up by bolting it to the wings higher up would lower the front of the trailer. If that happens you could use high-rise ball # RP19315 to gain an inch of rise at the hitch.
