How do I flat towing properly? What specific gear to be in?

I did some checking and it looks like your 2016 Kia Forte has to be towed on a tow dolly like the Roadmaster tow dolly part # RM-2050-1 and can not be flat towed with all 4 wheels down on the ground. With this you'd need to have the vehicle in park or in gear if you have a manual. And have the key in a position that locks the steering wheel.
