Question:

2016 Chevy Silverado with 5 1/2 foot bed. I have a BAK FLIP tonneau cover on the truck currently, came on truck when I bought it. It says MX4, dont know if thats the model, it is a tri-fold. This ladder rack looks like it could work with said tonneau cover. I have a feeling the cover will hit the vertical rails depending on their positioning. Is it possible to use this rack with said cover and be functional? Even if I have to slide the rack around to get cover open, I am ok with it. I need the rack for occasional ladder, lumber and pipe transport. I dont intend on keeping material on the rack most of the time. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Some people have had luck installing a sliding Thule TracRac like the part # TH43002XT-782 with the BackFlip MX4 like the part # BAK48120 that you have installed on your 2016 Chevy Silverardo 1500 5-1/2 foot bed. That said the issue isn't so much the folds interfering with the uprights as much as it is the base rails of the rack not allowing the cover to fold. This is due to the tonneau covering a small part of the bed rail cover like what you have in your picture.

The only tonneau we guarantee will work with the TracRac is the Bak Revolver part # BAK39120 as it sits far enough to the inside of the rails that it does not interfere.
