Question:
What are some options that I can add to make it easier for the suburban to tow? Im looking for specifics on cooling the engine and transmission and anything else that might be useful in extending the life of the truck.

Adding a transmission cooler will go a long way towards extending the life of your Chevrolet Suburban's transmission, especially if you tow often or if the weight of your trailer is up near the vehicle's limits. An engine oil cooler is also a great idea to reduce oil temperatures while the vehicle is towing and under stress. This will help to prolong the life of the engine as well as improve its overall performance.
For your 2013 Chevrolet Suburban I recommend taking a look at the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler # D15902. This unit is the best of both worlds, as it will keep both the engine and transmission cool with its separate tubes inside the core. The unit measures 17 inches wide, 12-1/2 inches tall, and 3/4 inches deep so you will just want to make sure you have enough room between the grille and AC condenser for this to mount. You will also need the Snap-In Radiator Adapter # D13035, which will allow you to connect the cooler to the Suburban's radiator.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
Another option to help improve your towing experience is with a tuner. If you have the 5.3L V8 engine I recommend the Edge EvoHT2 Hand-Held Performance Tuner # EP26040, which can add up to 25.1 HP and 22.7 foot pounds of torque on your Suburban. Its OBD-II monitoring capabilities will also let you keep track of engine data with its 2.8 inch color hi-res LCD screen. Just note that this tuner is not legal for use on pollution-controlled vehicles in California.
