Question:

I have been using a lube plate at the advice of the RV dealer. It has been very difficult to hook up. A friend told me to remove it which I did and hooking up is much easier. Two questions. Should I grease the head of the hitch and the revolution pin box. If so what type of grease. Did I do any damage with the lube plate.

You did no damage using a lube plate on your pin box. Lube plates are great for pin boxes that rotate to keep from getting grease everywhere, but a Revolution pin box does not rotate at the hitch, so the RV dealer should not have recommended it for your application.

I recommend using a little bit of white lithium grease like the LubriMatic White Lithium grease in 14 oz. Cartiridges # L11354 for your hitch head. It will make connecting a little easier and will allow you to only use a little at a time as needed so there isn't a mess. Just a little bit on either side of the head will help.
