Question:
The king pin on this 1972 5th wheel camper has an overall length of 2 inch sticking out. The pin is too short for any hitch Ive tried to lock in. The bottom lip of the king pin lines right up with the fingers of the hitch. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have an older 5th wheel pin box and you need to either replace the king pin or replace the entire pin box.
To replace the king pin you most likely would need a weld-on option like the Buyers # 337KP20038 which has a 3/8" bolster plate. If you would rather go with a bolt-on option then we do have part # 337BKPT809B but you need to make sure that you pin box is in excellent condition to ensure that this will hold up properly.
We do carry replacement pin boxes as well but I would need to know either your pin box model number (like the popular 1621) or the distances between the mounting bolts as well as from the mounting bolts to the center of the king pin. Since you have a 1972 5th wheel trailer we may not have a direct replacement for you.
