Is Vinyl Coated Safety Cables # DL20119 Clevis or Eye Slip Hook

Question:
Unless the pictures, your videos and the item number are not the product sold, these are not clevis hooks, they are eye slip hooks.

A hook can be classified as a slip hook or a grab hook and that is determined by the inside shape of the hook (there are other types as well, just ask any rigger or logger). A grab hook is made to lock in to a link on a chain and stay put. A slip hook is rounded and designed to allow a chain to "slip" through it. Clevis or Eye refers to the other end of the hook and is very specific. An Eye hook has a closed circle (like the one on this product). A Clevis hook has a clevis pin that can be removed. Clevis and Eye hooks can be either slip or grab. But an Eye hook can't be a Clevis hook. They are not interchangeable.

I did some digging online and Clevis hooks with safety latches are sometimes referred to as slip hooks. The # DL20119 would pretty easily fall under both classifications.
