Question:

Ive got the old hardshell cartop carrier. I can get the mounting straps on here. Now I just need to know if I can get the metal parts that clip on to the top of the door opening. The parts that the straps attach to. I still have the hardware that is attached to the cartop carrier iteself.

I may have a solution for you but we don't carry the hooks to connect the old X-Cargo boxes that used the straps. Like you mentioned we have the straps, part # SR02918, which are 1 inch wide. We also have some clips for RightLine Gear cargo bags, part # RL100600, that have an opening to receive a 1 inch strap. They're designed to clip around the edges of the doors like the hooks for the X-Cargo box did, even though they aren't the exact ones.

I contacted Thule about the original hooksfor the old X-Cargo boxes. According to her, Sears is the only place that carried the replacement hooks and she wasn't sure if they're still available or not.
