I bought these to replace the clamps on my roof bars. The experience I had with the roof bag last year that used these same clamps convinced me that these would work with my racks. This gives me backups also. I reduced by 1 star because I think the price was at least 20% too high. 847902

Worked beautifully. Had one on daughters Toyota RAV4 and one on the trunk of my Honda Accord and hauled her possessions back from Rexburg ID to Colonial Heights VA over 3 days and two flat tires. They held thru wind rain, fog and heat. No content damage. I did a few extra tie-down straps for interstate speed driving security for my own peace of mind. You have an excellent product. 390646

This bag was great. I filled it to capacity and strapped it to the top of my SUV for a trip from NY to NC. It held up great. It even rained along the way. But when I got to my destination, everything was dry and well kept. I would recommend this product again. 345271

My roof top bag is not a Rightline brand but it has similar straps. It's s generic roof top cargo bag from Walmart. These clips are universal and fit my straps perfectly. 289069

The hooks didn't fit our car's frame very well. They seemed to work fine, but I did worry that they might pull out the weatherstripping. (see main review for bag) 229823

We actually just used it again over this weekend! It worked outperfectly again, just like last year. We strapped through the car forthe back strap, instead of using the hooks, which seemed to work fine. But we couldnt do that in the front because our car is too small andthe strap would be in the way, so we still needed the hooks. We have only used the bag twice so far but were definitely happy withit!

The product is solidly built but I would not say these are universal. At this point I think I can make them work with our Nisan Versa but not positive and certainly not simply. 98429

  • How to Use a Rightline Cargo Roof Bag on a Vehicle with Sliding Doors
You can use a Rightline Sport 3 XL Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S30 on the naked roof of a vehicle with sliding doors. All you would need is the car clips like part # RL100600 that you referenced.

  • Hooks for Straps on Older Sears X-Cargo Rooftop Carrier
The best option which may work for replacing the hooks on your older Sears X-Cargo rooftop car carrier are the Replacement Car Clips for Rightline Gear Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100600 (Quantity of 4) or # RL100605 (Quantity of 2). These are rubber-coated steel and do not have the lip like the hooks in your photo; these are by far the best option for you.

  • How to Install Rightline Roof Bags on a Naked Roof of a Vehicle with a Sliding Door
To install the Rightline Sport Jr. Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S50 on your 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan with sliding doors you would need the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100600. These clips will clip on the door frame of your Grand Caravan and would not interfere with your sliding door. I also recommend a protective pad, # RL100650, to protect the roof when using the bag.

  • RightLine Car Clips Fit on Chevy Suburban, Ford Expedition and GMC Yukon XL
Rightline tells me that they don't have any vehicle specific fit information, but that the clips will work with most vehicles. I've used similar products and the past, and unless this is for a one-time use, you'll be much better off installing a roof rack or using existing roof rails to secure a roof mounted cargo bag. The two hassles I experienced was that the hooks didn't hold very tightly which allowed the bag to scoot around, and the hooks/straps allowed some moisture to wick into...

  • Car Clips for 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan with Naked Roof
I spoke with my contact at Rightline and she said the Rightline car clips for the Sport 2 cargo bag will not work with the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan with a naked roof because of the minivan's sliding side door. I do have a solution for you, however. I recommend the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90. The Rightline Saddlebag has a carrying capacity of up to 13 cubic feet and a weight capacity of 100 lbs and features a 1-year warranty. Since your vehicle has a naked roof you...

  • Straps To Use with the Car Clips # RL100600
The Car Clips # RL100600 that you referenced are designed to fit a 1 inch wide strap. For a 1 inch wide strap that would work well and is adjustable in length check out the Thule Load Strap Cinch Straps # TH521. These are 1 inch wide by 9 feet long and have a capacity of up to 750 lbs. These are sold in pairs. So you would need to order a quantity of 2 if you need 4 straps. Be sure not to exceed the roof capacity of your vehicle. Check the owners manual for this capacity.

I spoke with my contact at Rightline and they told me the tie-down straps are not sold as a separate item. If you are able to locate the 1 inch strap and the cam buckle, I recommend part # RL100600. These are the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags, and would provide the attach clips for your cargo bag on the roof of your 2014 Nissan Altima. The straps are 1 inch wide that are needed. To protect your Altima roof finish and the cargo bag I recommend using a non skid protection...

  • Cargo Bag Recommendation for a 2012 Honda Fit with Naked Roof
If you have a naked roof on your 2012 Honda Fit (meaning no roof rack), the clips part # RL100600 that you referenced would be the best way to secure a Rightline Cargo bag like the part # RL100A10. Otherwise the includes straps with the bag would attach to a roof rack fine without them.

A 48 x 60 inch roof should be plenty large enough. I also recommend pad # RL100650 to not only protect the roof but also to help keep the bag in place. For your 2013 Toyota Prius I actually recommend Rightline Ace cargo bag # RL100A20. It is larger but costs less than bag # RL100S50 that you asked about. When properly installed the bag will work well on your long trip from Illinois to New Jersey.
