Thank you for answering my question and attaching the parts Jameson C ! So just to make sure that Im clear on everything, I cant use this adapter Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate for EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch to pull a fifth wheel with the Sidewinder king pin?

The only way to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a Ram truck like your 2016 Ram 2500 that has the Ramboxes is with a Sidewinder pin box. This moves the pivot point up higher so that it can clear the narrower bed rails. With gooseneck hitches this is not an issue so that wouldn't be a problem with the Curt # C60660.

With a Sidewinder setup though you have to use a fifth wheel rail system and could not convert a gooseneck hitch to a fifth wheel with an adapter. You'd need a rail kit like the part # RP50054-58 installed in your truck and a fixed hitch like the Reese M5 part # RP30928.

The Curt X5 cannot be used with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders require fifth wheel rail systems that attach in for places (the corners) and the X5 only attaches at the center post. You'd have to go with a traditional rail setup and not a gooseneck hitch adapted to rails if this is the route you want to go.
