Question:

Im considering upgrading the auxiliary springs on my 1999 Blazer. The OEM ones are similar to the Timbren jounce springs you sell pn TGMRSB4 and pn TGMRJB. Can you tell me the difference between the two Timbren products and how one would choose between them? Im towing a boat and trailer with a total weight of 2,200 lbs. Thanks

I will be happy to help you out. Timbren springs # TGMRSB for the 1999 Chevy Blazer are for 2-wheel drive versions of the vehicle. And # TGMRSB4 is for 4x4 models. Both kits are rated for 2,000 pounds. The fact that your trailer weighs 2,200 pounds means that the tongue weight is around 220 pounds so the springs are rated for more than enough for the trailer tongue weight.

Another option for 2- or 4-wheel drive models is RoadActive Suspension # RAS4527-T. This system will not make the empty ride quality as stiff as the Timbren springs. Take a look at the linked video to see how it works.
