Thank you for your excellent response. Since my first question, I found the Surco three bike rack that might be better since it ties into the spare tire seemingly better than the Malone. The reviews are better and more numerous. Is it appropriate to ask your opinion on which is better? I'll definitely get one of them along with the cross bar for the kid's bike.

The Malone RunWay, part # MPG2148, is confirmed to fit your 2002 Jeep Wrangler as long as you have the factory spare tire. Your only catch is the 35 pound bike because the RunWay has a maximum capacity of 33 pounds per bike. Since you're so close you likely won't have an issue. I definitely recommend loading the heavier bike closest to the Jeep though.
You also may need a bike frame adapter bar for the girl's bike to keep it level on the rack. I recommend the Swagman Deluxe, part # 64005.
