According to the owners manual, reverse lamp bulb in a 2009 Colorado is a # 3057.
The Hopkins Back-Up Alert Bulb is only offered in # 1156 or # 3156, neither of which, I am sorry to say, will work on your vehicle.
I would recommend going with the Surface Mount Back-Up Alarm, part # BK97DB. This unit could be mounted under the vehicle behind the bumper and is easily installed by tapping into the reverse lamp circuit.
