Recommended Trailer Tire with Higher Speed Rating for Size 4.80-8

Updated 06/28/2018 | Published 06/26/2018

Question:

Had a blowout on the highway with rangeB tire 4.80-8 so I replaced with Deli classC tires which seem to barely get warm at 70mph under my Coleman Colorado popup. How do these compare to your Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80/4.00-8 - Load RangeC ? ...I know not rated for 70mph, but I have a need for speed.

All of our tires in the 4.8-8.0 size only have a 65 mph speed rating, like the part # AM30020 with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. I cannot safely recommend you do 70 mph with this option for your trailer.

For the 5 on 5 bolt pattern we have the replacement tire and wheel with the part # AM30070. But even though the description says that these work great at the highway speeds, my research shows that the limit is 65 mph.
